The Future of Jobs Report 2025 projects 170 million jobs created and 92 million displaced by 2030. What rises, what falls and why skills weigh most.

The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025, published on January 8, 2025, projects that changes in technology, the economy, demographics and the green transition will create 170 million jobs by 2030 and eliminate 92 million. The net balance is positive, at 78 million jobs. But the change affects about 22% of current jobs, and close to 40% of the skills required today are expected to change by then.
What happened
The report surveyed more than a thousand large employers, together accounting for more than 14 million workers, across 22 industries and 55 economies, according to the Forum's press release. The full report points, among other findings, to:
- the fastest-growing roles in percentage terms are in technology: big data specialists, fintech engineers and AI and machine learning specialists;
- the fastest-growing in absolute numbers are everyday jobs: farmworkers, delivery drivers, care workers and teachers;
- the fastest-shrinking are routine office roles, such as cashiers and administrative assistants;
- the skills gap is the main barrier companies cite to transforming;
- 85% of employers plan to upskill their staff, and about 40% expect to reduce headcount where automation can take over tasks.
Press coverage, such as Yahoo Finance, highlighted the same contrast: the balance is positive, but those who lose and those who gain are different people, in different places.
Why it matters
The Forum's report and the IMF analysis say similar things by different routes. AI does not end work, but it moves tasks around. Those caught in the middle of the shift, without learning, lose.
There is a detail that tends to go unnoticed: among the roles growing most in number are farmworkers and care workers. Agribusiness and health, two areas in which Brazil has a great many people, appear on the growing side. The question is what tools these people will work with.
In Bairo's view
Bairo Leandro Gonzalez Martinez reads the report as confirmation of an idea he repeats: AI is an extension of the human, not the problem. In his reading, the net 78 million do not reach anyone on their own. They reach those who decided to learn.
He speaks of his own story as proof of this. He says he worked in education, a salon, cosmetics and events, that he lost everything more than once and that, already an adult and without knowing how to code, he spent six months at home learning to build with AI. For Bairo, the upskilling the report talks about is not an expensive course: it is a daily decision.
For him, the fact that farm work and care are among the fastest-growing roles is the strongest argument in favor of niche AIs. A farmer does not need an assistant that knows everything. He needs one that understands harvests, prices and freight. CLAIN, the agent orchestrator he founded, is designed this way, and the goal of 142 niche AIs in 142 days, announced on October 1, 2026, is written as a goal.
Where this meets the ecosystem
- In the field, CEASA Bank, a financial platform for agribusiness that operates on the infrastructure of an authorized institution, proposes pricing, agricultural forecasting and financing tools for producers and traders.
- In care, Xperienc Global Labs proposes a professional training center in partnership with Hospital Granja Julieta, a distinct entity, and works with a clinical assistant validated by a professional.
- For those who want to start now, the guide AI for farmers shows practical uses in the field.
